Kelly S. Cadwallader was a caring wife, mother, “grammy”, sister, and friend. Kelly peacefully went home to be with Jesus on the holiest day of the year- December 25th- following a valiant battle with ALS.
Kelly graced this Earth on November 25, 1964, born in Logansport, Indiana to Phyllis & Dale Gibson. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael Cadwallader, in December of 1984, and together they raised two children, Lindsey & Blake. She graduated from Logansport High School in 1983 and was a dedicated employee of the Farm Service Agency for 20 years.
Kelly loved life and lived it fully. She was a breath of fresh air and a beam of light to everyone around her. She loved to garden, but loved to workout with her girlfriends even more. Other joys included home projects and traveling with her husband. She was a contributive farmer’s wife and her nature to nurture as a mother never ceased even when her children were old enough to have children. Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32- “and be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you.”
Kelly is survived by her husband, Michael Cadwallader, sister, Cheryl Maroney, brother, Scott Gibson, mother-in-law, Judy Cadwallader, children, Lindsey Black and Blake Cadwallader, and four beautiful grandchildren, Rory Cadwallader, Gracie Black, Cooper Black, and Owen Black. Along with her family, she leaves behind many friends whom she values so much. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Family and friends may gather for visitation services and sharing of memories at Rans Funeral Home in Royal Center on Saturday, January 4th from 2-5 p.m. A celebration of life, per Kelly’s wishes, will take place at a later date to be determined.
