Larry E. Maroney, 90, of Lucerne passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2025, at home surrounded by family.
Born on January 21, 1935, in Lucerne, he was the son of the late Sylvester and Hilda (Stookey) Maroney.
He was a 1955 graduate of Metea High School.
On June 29, 1956, he married Carole J. Shaffer who survives.
Larry was a lifelong farmer, who raised many Duroc show pigs and also retired after 42 years from GenCorp in Logansport.
He was a member of Metea Baptist Church and enjoyed bowling, Euchre, Yahtzee, Uno, and most of all spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Carole Maroney of Lucerne, children, Jeff Maroney, Renda Harvey (Mike), Terry Maroney (Marna Dillman), Cathy Simpson (Reid ) and Steven Maroney (Vicky), sister, Sue Kiesling, sister in law, Pat Maroney, grandchildren, Megan Kennell (Kyle), Jordan Morrow (Jordan), Ryan Maroney, Ashley Maroney (Steven Woodruff), Kristen Grab (Philip), Lucas Maroney, Cody Lebo (Linnea), Whitney Byrnes (Eric), Ian Simpson (Alexa), Jake Maroney (Lexi Smith), Megan Fry and Courtney Fry and great grandchildren, Aiden Lowe, Ava Bell, Addi Kennell, Liz Kennell, Jagger, Jada and Julian Morrow, Mitchell Albright, Marleigh Woodruff, Hallie and Jalyn Lebo, Shane and Oliver Byrnes and Nolan and Quinn Simpson.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Raymond and Bill Maroney, sisters, Eileen Musselman, Sister James Agnes, Barbara Clary, Marilyn Schlaug, Phyllis Inman, brother-in-law, Joseph Kiesling and special niece, Leah Barnett.
Services will be at 5:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2025, at Metea Baptist Church with Pastor Dirk Raderstorf officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Burial will follow at Metea Baptist Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Cass County 4-H Association and/or Guardian Angel Hospice.
