Pastor Lawrence A Hamilton, 69, Rochester passed away at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at his residence near Kewanna. Pastor Hamilton was born on February 15, 1937 in LaPorte, Indiana. He was the son of the late William and Matteline (Shaffer) Hamilton. On May 22, 1956 he married Delores Ann Rearick, who preceded him in death on March 30, 1995.
He served in the United States Army, 1956-1962. He was pastor of The Home Christian Church, Rochester, IN. and had formerly delivered papers for the Shopping Guide, Rochester.His hobbies included bowling, gardening & fishing.
Survivors include daughters Debra Stroller (Rick), Monticello, IN.,Patty Kemp (William), Homoassa, FL., Tammy Floyd, Rochester, IN., Brenda Adams (Mike), Georgia. Sons, Glen Hamilton, Rochester, IN., Sam Hamilton (Sharron), Kokomo, IN., Daniel Hamilton (Julia), Argos, IN., Larry Hamilton (Teryl), Florida. Sisters, Louise Alsop, Shady Cove, OR., Marie Walls, Mishawaka, IN., and a brother, Billy Hamilton, Warsaw, IN. 24 Grandchildren & 13 Great-Grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Charles Floyd.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. EST, Friday, February 9, 2007 at Global Harvest Church, 5110 E. 800 S., Monterey with Pastor Billy Bope officiating. Global Harvest Church is located 8 miles north of Winamac on U.S. 35.
Burial will follow at Star City West Cemetery, Star City, IN.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. EST, Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Kewanna chapel and 1 hour prior to the time of services at the church.
