Lester H. Shidaker

Services for Lester H. Shidaker, 93 of Rochester, formerly of Kewanna, will be held Monday, October 20, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 123 East Main St., Kewanna.

He passed away at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester.

Born February 9, 1915 in Leiters Ford, he was the son of the late Jonas and Mae (Lunsford) Shidaker. On December 26, 1937 he was married to Lois E. Lambert, she survives.

He was a 1933 graduate of Leiters Ford High School.

Lester formerly owned and operated Shidakers-DX/Sunoco Service Station in Kewanna for 42 years.

He was a school bus driver for Kewanna School for many years and a member of the Kewanna Church of Christ.A� In his younger years, Lester loved to pitch baseball and enjoyed bowling.A� In his later years, he enjoyed playing harmonica and for many years, he and his wife Lois wintered in Florida.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lois Shidaker, Rochester, 3 daughters, Janice Bleeke and her husband, David, of Fort Wayne, Linda Worl and her husband Bill, of Huntertown and Trudy Cilek and her husband, Dewayne of Crown Point, 1 sister, Gladys Leap of Culver, 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Harry Shidaker and one sister, Ethel Shidaker.

Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at the funeral home.

Pastor Scott Meneely will officiate and burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Kewanna.
