Linda D. (Poskus) Shearer
January 17, 1943 — July 30, 2016
Linda Shearer, 73 of Kewanna passed away at 4:48 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 17, 1943 in East Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Irene Poskus.
She was a graduate of East Chicago Washington High School.
On August 19, 1961 she married James “Jim” Shearer, he survives.
Linda retired from CVS in Rochester. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and the American Legion Ladies Aux. in Rochester.
She enjoyed bowling, camping and fishing.
Survivors include her husband, James “Jim” Shearer of Kewanna, sons, Paul Shearer (Lisa) of Fair Oaks, Todd Shearer (JoEllen) of South Carolina and James Shearer of Rochester, brother, Donnie Poskus (Michelle) of Florida, sister, Dana Todd of Tennessee, grandchildren, Dallas Shearer, Hunter Shearer, Katie Shearer (Chris York), Todd Shearer and Nicky Hudson (Ethan) and great granddaughter, Harper York.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m. (EST), Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Miller officiating.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
