Services for Lois E. Shidaker, 94 of Rochester, formerly of Kewanna will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2009 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna.
She died at 7:25 p.m., April 1, 2009 at Hickory Creek in Rochester.
Born July 21, 1914 in Wabash county, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ova (Jones) Lambert. On December 26, 1937, she married Lester H. Shidaker and he preceded her in death October 15, 2008.
She was a 1932 graduate of Linlawn High School in Wabash. Mrs. Shidaker was formerly bookkeeper for her husband Lesterchr(39)s business, Shidakers-DX/Sunoco Service Station in Kewanna for 42 years.
She was a member of the Kewanna Church of Christ and formerly Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Kewanna.
Mrs. Shidaker was Sunday school teacher for many, many years and also played the organ. She also enjoyed quilting.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Janice Bleeke and her husband, David of Ft. Wayne, Linda Worl and her husband, Bill of Huntertown, and Trudy Cilek and her husband, Dewayne of Crown Point, 1 sister, Sarah Baxter of North Manchester, 1 sister-in-law, Gladys Leap of Culver, 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by 1 sister, Delia Greer.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home.
Pastor Scott Meneely will officiate and burial will be in Moon Cemetery, Kewanna.
