Loretta Perrone Oneal Allen, 77, of Logansport passed away at 11:57 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 9, 1935 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Scevina (Palumbo) Perrone. Loretta was formerly married to Nels Oneal.
Loretta attended St. Joseph's Parochial School and was a 1953 graduate of Logansport High School. She also was a graduate of Indiana State University and St. Francis University.
She taught school at Gilead Elementary, Chili Elementary and North Miami Community Schools for 25 years.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, All Saints Ladies Society, past member of Daughters of Isabella, National Catholic Society of Foresters, National Education Association, Indiana State Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, and Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Loretta also enjoyed spending time with her family and going to her grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include her children, Melinna Bacon (Jim) of Logansport, Laura Rinehart (Richard) of Logansport, and Brian Oneal (Becky) of Logansport, sisters, Grace D'Andrea of Logansport and Beth Martin of Logansport, grandchildren, Heather Pearson, Amy Bacon, Sara Walters (Payton), Jennifer Rinehart, Jim Rinehart and John Rinehart (Brandi), great grandchildren, Dylan Pearson, Blake Pearson and Brynn Rinehart, and her lifelong friend and classmate, Shirley Amelio Peter of Logansport. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Rose Mitsos.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Michael McKinney officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday, January 21, 2013 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport where there will also be a Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Logansport.
Memorial Contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church and/or the American Cancer Society.
