Loyd C. Merkel

Services for Loyd C. Merkel, 91 of Burnettsville, will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 8, 2008 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel.
He died at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at White County Memorial Hospital, Monticello.
Born January 27, 1917 in Dubois County, Indiana, he was the son of the late Jacob and Ethel (North) Merkel. On May 18, 1978 he married Louise V. (Armentrout) Murphy and she preceded him in death on August 2, 2000.
Loyd formerly co-owned and operated Merkelchr(39)s Repair Shop in White County for over 35 years and he was also a farmer.
Surviving are caretakers Mark and Cindy Hines of Royal Center, two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and 2 brothers Norbert and Elmer Merkel.
Pastor David Webb will officiate at the service. Burial will be in Koster Cemetery in Francesville.
