Lula Mae Fields, 101, of Grass Creek passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at her residence.
Born on January 3, 1912 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Bruce and Ethel (Coplen) Morrett. On September 9, 1933 she married Cecil M. Fields. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1984.
She was a 1931 Rochester High School graduate.
Lula was formerly employed at Kewanna Co-op, Fulton County License Branch and Sommers Elevator in Grass Creek. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Grass Creek United Methodist, Ladies Aid, Wayne Township Friendly Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors include her children, Roger Fields (Neva) of Kewanna, Richard Fields (Sharon) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Shirley Shively (Jess) of Franklin and Sandra Redmaster of Ft. Wayne, sister-in-law, Ann Morrett of Greenfield, 15 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, John Fields, brother, Darwin "Duke" Morrett, sister, Louise Morrett . Lula was also preceded in death by 3 infant brothers and one infant sister.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Grass Creek United Methodist Church with Pastor David Sommers officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Harrison- Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at Grass Creek Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Grass Creek United Methodist Church and/or Premier Hospice.
