Services for Mace J. Gellinger, 83, of Logansport formerly of Burnettsville will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Marocco Funeral Chapel.
He died at 9:10 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.
Born on August 27, 1926 in Star City, he was the son of the late Mace F. and Hazel C. (Landes) Gellinger. On March 1, 1947 he married Madella J. Healey, she survives.
He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran serving in the south pacific aboard the USS Golden City.
Mace was a self employed truck driver and carpenter. He was also a member of the American Legion 60, VFW 3790 and a 19 year member of AA.
Mace was a Colts and Nascar fan who enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at Hardees.
Survivors include his wife, Madella J. Gellinger of Logansport, son, Calvin C. Gellinger of Logansport, daughters, Tanya T. Leslie and husband Brian of Marble Canyon, Arizona and Ginger D. Landis of Logansport, brother, Alfred Gellinger of Conroe, Texas, 5 grandchildren, Sheila Landis, Sam Landis, Jennifer Gellinger and husband John, Jason Gellinger and Brittney Gellinger, 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Maxine DeWitt.
Burial with military rites will be performed at Davis Cemetery in Burnettsville.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Marocco Funeral Chapel and from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
