Margaret L. (Peterson) Rittenhouse

Margaret L. Rittenhouse, 91, of Logansport formerly of Royal Center went to be with the Lord at 8:45 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport. Born on June 3, 1921 in Taylor County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lottie (Carroll) Peterson. On July 15, 1946 she married Carl R. Rittenhouse. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1962. She was a 1943 graduate of Campbellsville High School. Margaret was a retired seamstress from St. Joseph Hospital in Logansport. She was a member of Logansport Church of the Nazarene and a former member of Royal Center United Methodist Church. Margaret was a former member, past chief and district deputy of the Royal Center and Logansport Pythian Sisters. She also was a former member of the Logansport Rebekahs and the Nomads of Abrudaka in New Castle. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and most of all spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Harlan R. Rittenhouse and wife Dianna of Delphi and Carleen Woodke and husband Larry of Logansport, sister, Audrey Newcomb of Massachusetts and grandchildren, Richard Burns of Cambridge City, Kim Cruz (Tony) of Cicero, Brenda Mann of Winchester, Tammy Berkshire (Norm) of Royal Center, Tina Ramsay (Mike) of Santa Fe, Indiana, Erika Lewis (John) of Lafayette. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Young, brothers, John, James and Robert Peterson and sisters, Marie Akridge, Elizabeth Reid and Nadine Barnes. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel with Dr. Horace Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
