Martha Emeline Leach, 100, of Royal Center passed away at Logansport Memorial Hospital on September 19, 2022, one day after her 100th birthday.
Born September 18, 1922, in Clinton Township, Cass County, she was the daughter of Ora and Gertrude (Gross) Taylor.
She attended the old two-room Clinton School for six years and then attended Clymers School and graduated from Logansport High School in 1940.
On July 3, 1940, she married Loyd E. Leach and lived in the same house and on the same farm the remainder of her life. She was a good helpmate to her husband Loyd, who passed away in 1980. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Christian Church. She also participated in the Eastern Star and the Salvation Army. She helped with many church functions and the Salvation Army on many occasions.
In later years she was a cook at Noble Township School for some years and also worked at Switches Inc. for many years. She also wrote the Shiloh News column for the Royal Center Record for several years and she enjoyed board games, puzzles, listening to gospel music, sending cards to family and friends and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Larry (Judy) of Delphi and Wayne (Joyce) of Royal Center. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Brad Leach (Renee) of Lexington, KY, Stuart Leach (Darcy) of Murfreesboro , TN, Dan Leach (Laura) of Knoxville, TN, Melissa (Jonathon) Kimmel, of Avon, IN, Matthew (Lauren) Leach, of Lafayette, IN, and Mark Leach, of Logansport. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren: Jacob and Abigail Leach, of Lexington, KY, Ellie and Maddie Leach, of Murfreesboro, TN, Jacob, Brandon and Bella Kimmel of Avon, IN. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Robert Taylor, and by one sister, Elizabeth (Taylor) Roller.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2022 at Shiloh Christian Church with Pastor Mark Marshall officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the church.
Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Shiloh Christian Church, 1047 N CR 350 W, Logansport, IN. 46947 and/or the Salvation Army, 620 Wilkinson St., Logansport, IN. 46947.
