Mary Margaret Rans-Delon, 90 of Ft. Wayne formerly of Winamac was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 7, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary was born in Monterey, Indiana on July 10, 1934, the third child of the late John and Helen (Cross) Fagan.
While attending La Crosse High School, Mary enjoyed cheerleading and met her first husband, Lynn Alan Kennedy. They had a son, William Deane Kennedy. She married Delbert “Roy” Rans, Jr. and welcomed two more sons, Delbert R. Rans III and Thomas M. Rans. They enjoyed 19 years together until his passing in November 1978.
Later in life, she married Glen Delon. They created many memories together with their family while in Florida. On April 14, 2025, they would have celebrated 25 years of marriage.
Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntington.
She formerly owned and operated with several of her siblings, the Courthouse View Restaurant in Knox, Indiana.
She loved her family and cherished any time she could spend with them. She never passed up a good sale and always had a half cup of hot coffee in her hands. Her smile could light up a room and there was always a sparkle in her eyes. She was always available with a listening ear. She saw the good in everyone she met and made them feel loved.
Words cannot convey how much she will be missed. Her family finds peace in knowing she is united with those who went before her. Upon gaining her wings, Mary was met at Heaven’s Gate by her parents, husband, Delbert Roy Rans, Jr., son, Delbert Roy Rans III, brothers, John Fagan, Jr., William Fagan, and Thomas Fagan, step grandson, Robert Campbell and step daughter, Glenda Delon.
Survivors include her husband, Glen Delon of Ft. Wayne. Her sons, Bill Kennedy (Janet) of Huntington, Tom Rans (Linda) of Ft. Wayne, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Rans of Plymouth, IN. Her sisters, Jeanne Alber of Winamac and Marcella Downhour of Rochester. Stepchildren, Vicki (Ernie) Bridge of Royal Center, Larry Delon of Florida and Rick Delon (Patti) of Royal Center, Indiana.
