Mary Louise Dodt, 96, of Kokomo formerly of Royal Center passed away peacefully at 10:27 a.m., Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Wellbrooke of Kokomo.

Born on June 25, 1920 in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo Marshall and Mary Ellen (Spencer) Foust.

Mary was a 1938 Royal Center High School graduate.

On June 1, 1940 she married Wayne I. Dodt.  He preceded her in death on August 13, 1998.

Mary retired as an Instructor at the Woodlawn Center in Logansport where she was employed for over 20 years.

She was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School, was youth leader and a member of WSCS.  Mary later attended Baptist Christian Church.  She was also a former member of the Mary Dykeman Guild and the Harrison Twp. Home Extension Club.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Keven W. Dodt (Jacquolyn) of West Lafayette, Dr. Bruce I. Dodt (Deborah) of Kankakee, Illinois, and Rhoda Barkman (Dennis) of Kokomo, sister, Virginia Smith of Logansport and grandchildren, Bart Barkman of Fishers, Denise Hiltner of Battle Creek, Michigan, Brad Barkman (Mary Ellen) of Palm Harbor, Florida, Molly Dodt of West Lafayette, Adrienne Dodt of Chicago and Erica Dodt (Dan) of Brooklyn, New York and great grandchildren, Brock Hiltner, Kyle Hiltner, Katelyn Barkman, Andrew Barkman, Jacob Barkman, Isabella Dodt and Christian Dodt.

She was also preceded in death by brother, Alfred Foust, sisters, Ethel McIntire and Bethel Zeek and granddaughter, Alexa Dodt.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2016 at the funeral home.

Burial will be at the Royal Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Christian Church.

Arrangements entrusted to  Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center.
