Maxine Jayne Oswalt, 89 of Royal Center, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024 at 3:43 PM surrounded by her three children. She now rests in her eternal home with Jesus.

Maxine was born on December 10, 1934, in Logansport. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Oswalt (December 16, 2016), her parents, Clarence and Nora Catherine (Hall) Wilson, and sister, Joan Kistler.

On June 8, 1952 she married the love of her life, Richard H. Oswalt. She lovingly referred to him as “My Richie”. They shared a wonderful life together along with their three children.

Maxine worked in the cafeteria at Pioneer High School for over 35 years, retiring in 1997. Maxine loved Jesus and enjoyed spending time with her friends & family. She loved her family to the fullest and made each feel special, whether it was burgers for breakfast, mac-n-cheese at midnight or individual entrees for each guest. She often teased the grandchildren and asked “Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend yet?”. She loved having company over and catered to their every need. Some of her favorite meals to prepare were chicken & noodles, creamed turkey, her famous potato salad, made from scratch french dressing, pies & jello (for the grandkids). Maxine also loved watching movies! She enjoyed recording her favorite movies on VHS tapes and shared them with all!
