Michael Barabasz

Michael Barabasz, born on August 11, 1958, passed away at the age of 66 on October 26, 2024, in Indiana. His life was characterized by a vibrant personality and a deep appreciation for the simple joys life offered. He is survived by his loving family, including his sisters, Carol (Gary) Latronica and Joanne Barabasz; his children, Jessica (Brian) Purtell, Michael Jr. (Melissa) Barabasz, and Timothy Barabasz; his niece and nephews, Claire Latronica, Nick (Sara) Latronica, and Tony (Lesley) Latronica; as well as five grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Harriet Barabasz, and his sister, Marcia Carroll.

 A proud graduate of Brother Rice High School, Class of '76, Michael dedicated an impressive 43 years to his career at UPS.

 Beyond his career, Michael was a fun-loving individual who fulfilled his dream of living by a lake. An avid fisherman, he cherished the tranquility and excitement of each catch. His love for the outdoors, his German Shepherd, Pal, and reminiscing about stories from the past brought him great joy in his leisure time. His legacy of love and laughter will undoubtedly live on through his family and the many lives he touched.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Memorial Mass on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Christina, 3342 W 111th St, Chicago. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
