Services for Nedra J. Hurley, 59, of Indianapolis, formerly of Kewanna, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 27, 2009 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Kewanna.
She passed away at 1:40 p.m., Saturday August 22, 2009 at her residence after a 2 year battle with ovarian cancer, the silent killer.
Born July 11, 1950 in Rochester, she was the daughter of Clurel and Jeanette (Mutchler) Hunter. On August 16, 1970 she was married to Pete Hurley, he survives.
Nedra was a 1968 Kewanna High School graduate and she was a former dental assistant for Dr. Barco in Winamac. She retired in 1983 from the United States Air Force as a Sergeant and was also a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Indianapolis and a former member of the American Legion.
Nedra enjoyed cooking, reading and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Pete Hurley, 2 Sons, Robert A. Hurley IV and wife, Andrea, and Matthew T. Hurley, all of Indianapolis, Mother, Jeanette Hunter of Rochester, Brother, Phillip Hunter and wife, Cherlyn of Linden, 4 Sisters, Sara Hoffman and husband, Howard, and Donna Rude and husband, Steve, both of Rochester, Dianne Smith and husband, Jim of Plymouth and Cynthia Biggs and her husband, Larry of Logansport. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clurel Hunter.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna.
Father Bert Woolson will officiate and burial will be in Citizens IOOF Cemetery, Kewanna.
