Nicky “Nick” Klinefelter, 72, of Kewanna passed away at 1:45 a.m., Monday, November 26, 2018 at Golden Living Center in Kokomo.
Born October 20, 1946 in Chicago, he was the son of the late Verlin and Esther (Stone) Klinefelter.
He was a 1965 Kewanna High School graduate where he set many records running track. Beginning in high school, he learned the skill of a Journeyman meat cutter and began a career at Mosher’s in Kewanna. He later worked at Marsh and Kroger and also worked as manager of the meat dept at Wilts in Rochester.
On May 10, 1969, he married Markeeta A. Conrad. She survives.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam, where he was a 1968 Tet Offensive Survivor and also a recipient of the Bronze Star. Nick loved fishing, hunting, motorcycles and dogs.
He was a former member of the VFW Post 1121 in Kewanna.
Survivors include his wife, Markeeta Klinefelter of Kewanna, son, Nicky Klinefelter Jr. of Winamac, brother, Verlin “Bo” Klinefelter Jr. (Anita) of Kewanna and sister, Linda Gottschalk (Bill) of Bonita Springs, Florida.
Graveside Services with Military Rites performed will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 3, 2018 at Citizens IOOF Cemetery in Kewanna.
