Patrick Joseph McHale, 79, of Kokomo passed away at 3:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born September 29, 1935, in Kokomo, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Dorothy L. (Keith) McHale. On September 1, 1961 he married Gloria J. Winkler, and she survives.
Pat was a 1953 graduate of Kokomo High School and served in the U.S. Army from May 1958-May 1960. He was employed by Delco Electronics, H.E. McGonigal and went on to start his own business, McHale’s Auto Sales. In addition, he held various other sales positions through the years.
He was a member of the Elk’s Club, Antelope Club, Indianapolis, Moose, Florida, and the American Legion, Greentown. Pat enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, golf, working out at the gym, attending the Indianapolis 500. He was also an avid Colts and IU fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gloria J. McHale; daughters, Julie McHale, Chicago, Beth (McHale) Meskis and her husband Michael, Fishers; granddaughters, Lauren and Julia Meskis, nephew, Jim (Susan) Kaspar and family, Fishers; brother, Mike McHale, Kokomo, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded by in death his parents and sister, Mary Jo (McHale) Kaspar.
In keeping with Pat’s wishes to be cremated there will be no visitation or service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Monastery of the Poor Clares, Kokomo, V.F.W. and/or Disabled American Veterans Charity.
