Paul E. Martin, 90, of Corbin, Kentucky formerly of Royal Center passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Corbin, Kentucky.
Born on May 2, 1920 in White County, he was the son of the late Mace E. and Georgia (Peter) Martin. On September 29, 1943 he married Patricia L. McDonald and she preceded him in death on August 4, 2006.
Paul was a 1940 Royal Center High School graduate and a WWII U. S. Army veteran serving in the South Pacific. He was also a member of Baptist Christian Church in Royal Center since 1939.
He was a retired electrician who was formerly employed at Ralph David Wholesale for 20 years and the Logansport State Hospital for 13 years. Paul also had a small appliance repair shop at his residence in Royal Center for several years after his retirement.
Survivors include his children, Richard D. Martin and wife Eva of Corbin, Kentucky and Marilyn S. Moore of London, Kentucky, sister, Faye Etta Pearson of Royal Center, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Virgil, William and Ray Martin and sister, Doris Roberts.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the funeral home.
Burial with military rites will be performed at Cline Cemetery in Royal Center.
