Pauline Scales, 98, of Grass Creek, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at her residence.
She was born on October 17, 1921 in Grass Creek, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel (Chestnut) Huffman.
On September 20, 1942, she married Donald K. Scales in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2011. They enjoyed over 69 years of marriage.
Pauline was a bookkeeper for Urbin Chevrolet in Kewanna for 12 years and then for 19 years at Hal Hammels Chrysler Dodge in Rochester. She and Don loved their trips to Minnesota for fishing trips and Michigan for mushroom hunting. She was a strong, independent woman who loved her time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Barbara Grandstaff and husband Doug of Kendallville, Bruce Scales and wife Rosemary of Fulton, Phyllis Koontz and husband Gene of Rochester, Linda Garner and husband Tom of Kewanna, Ellen Heiden and husband Victor of Columbia City, sister-in-law, Patty Tarver of Titusville, Florida. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Barry Scales, grandson, Danny Scales and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Pauline’s service will be live streamed at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory Facebook page.
Burial will be at Grass Creek Cemetery.
