Phyllis D. Thomas, 85, of Grass Creek passed away at 5:30 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2023 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born on June 29, 1938 in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Dale and Gertrude (Bridegroom) Frazier.
She was a 1956 Marion High School graduate and a 1957 graduate of Marion Business College.
On January 27, 1957 she married Eugene R. Thomas. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2022.
Phyllis retired from the Pharmacy Department from CVS in Rochester. She also was formerly employed at Super X Drugs in Rochester.
She was a member of Grass Creek United Methodist Church where for many years she served as Bible School Director and was a member of the Ladies Aide. She was a founding member of the 20th Century Ladies Home Economics Club. Phyllis also enjoyed crocheting and made certain all of her grandchildren received a blanket she had crotched for them upon their high school graduation.
Survivors include her children, Curtis Thomas (Cindy) of Crossville, Tennessee, Bradley Thomas (Lisa) of Rochester, Bryan Thomas (Brynley) of Sommerset and Kim Sigman (Tony) of Indianapolis, brother Delbert Frazier (Sandra) of Marion, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother in law, Loren Thomas (Liz) of Ft. Wayne, sister in law, Yvonne Jones (Rich) of Indianapolis and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is sister in law, Melba Frazier of Gas City, with whom Phyllis enjoyed taking many vacation trips.
She was also preceded in death by son, Christopher Thomas and brother, Donald Frazier.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Metzger Chapel, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna with Pastor David Sommers officiating.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
Burial will follow at Grass Creek Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Grass Creek Lions Club.
