Ray E. McLean, 70, of Idaville passed away at 1:50 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born on March 1, 1942 in Michigan City, he was the son of the late Virgil and Marge (Fansler) McLean. From the age of 4, Ray was raised by his late grandparents, Mable and Ed Baugh and after their deaths he lived with his aunt and uncle, Edith and Wilbur Collins. He attended Royal Center grade school and was a 1960 Idaville High School graduate. On May 7, 1961 he married Charlene Hunt, she survives. Ray was a lifelong farmer and lived on the family homestead since 1947. He served in the National Guard from 1958 to 1963. Ray attended Pisgah Christian Church and he enjoyed tractor pulls with his brother in law, Larry Hunt and friend, Larry Butcher. Survivors include his wife, Charlene McLean of Idaville, daughter, Wanda Arvin (Bob) of Idaville, sons, Kyle McLean (Benita) of Idaville and Jeffery McLean (Ruby) of Logansport, grandchildren, Jason McLean, Travis Raderstorf (Katlyn), Tabatha Raderstorf, Josh Fuller, Amber Mullins (Jason), Katrina McLean, Britney McLean and Darrin Arvin and great grandchildren, Preston, Kali (father, Ben Howard), Benjamin and Eli. Services will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Ryan Lewellen officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. Burial with military rites will be performed at the Idaville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Guardian Angel Hospice and/or the Idaville Volunteer Fire Dept.
