Ray Wireman, 91, of Royal Center passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 6:10 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.
Born on December 6, 1924 in Powell County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Marion and Maymee (Hall) Wireman.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in WWII.
On February 16, 1948 Ray married Wanda Lee Finger. She preceded him in death on August 11, 2002.
Ray retired from General Tire in Logansport and he was a lifelong farmer.
He was a member of Pisgah Christian Church and he enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his children, Richard Wireman (Jill) of Royal Center, Larry Wireman of Royal Center, David Wireman (Beth) of Royal Center, Robert Wireman (Jenny) of Logansport, Shirley Gilbert (David) of New Castle and Angela Fuentes of Valdosta, Georgia, brothers, Easterling Wireman of Peru and Freeman Wireman (Anna Jean) of Peru and sisters, Geneva Sparks of Peru, Loreda Brown (Charlie) of Peru, Wanda Rogers of Kentucky, Betty Bellamy of Kentucky and Freeda Sue Sexton (Donald) of Kentucky. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by daughters, Darlene McIver and Infant Laurisa Wireman, sister, Helen Perry and 3 infant granddaughters.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the funeral home.
Burial with Full Military Rites will be performed at Davis Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson’s Foundation and/or Pisgah Christian Church.
