Raymond Dale Tutterow, 87, of Logansport went to be with his Savior at 8:25 a.m., October 26, 2014 at Millers Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born on February 24, 1927 in Helmsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late William Otto and Goldie Dell (Hedrick) Tutterow. On March 7, 1975, he married Mary Louise Keller at Pisgah Christian Church.
He was a WWII U. S. Navy Veteran serving aboard the USS Harris in the South Pacific.
Raymond retired in 1978 from Courier and Newsom Trucking Company as a professional driver after 21 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Logansport and he loved traveling, his church and church family. In September of 2013 he was privileged to be chosen to be a participant with 90 other WWII veterans in an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. His guardian was Jean Herd, his VA Health Provider. They visited the Veterans Memorials and many other National Sites. It was an unforgettable day for Raymond.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Tutterow of Logansport, son, Larry D. Tutterow (Chris) of Mooresville, daughter, Diana Zoubul of Logansport, step children, Stephen Keller of Niles, Michigan, Glen Keller (Ana) of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Marilyn DiNino (William) of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, son-in-law, Junior Matthews of Columbus, Indiana and brothers-in-law, Homer Hettinger (Virginia) of Star City, James Hettinger (Jean) of Logansport, Richard Hettinger (Judi) of Logansport and Thomas Hettinger (Hayley) of Logansport, and special niece, Cheryl Haddon (Jim) of Crestview, Illinois. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Raymond was also preceded in death by daughter, Sherry Gale Matthews, brothers, Leroy Tutterow, Fred Tutterow, Marvin Tutterow, who was a paratrooper killed in action at the Battle of the Bulge and whom Raymond was especially proud of, and Lloyd Tutterow and sisters, Helen, Ruby, and Sally.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel with visitation from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service with Pastor Jeff Allen and Dr. Horace Smith officiating.
Burial with Miltiary Rites will be performed at Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
