Retha K. (Brubaker) Lesher
September 3, 1918 — July 27, 2017
Retha Lesher, 98, of Royal Center passed away at 12:05 a.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.
Born September 3, 1918 in Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late Austin and Pearl (Neher) Brubaker. On April 10, 1943, she married Dale E. Lesher. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1998.
She was a 1937 Royal Center High School graduate.
Retha was a homemaker. She was a member of Baptist Christian Church and a former member of Boone Township Home-Ec Club and former member of Farmers Union. She enjoyed playing cards, especially bid Euchre, gardening, bingo and traveling.
Survivors include her daughter, Marjean Shafer (Steve) of Wheat Ridge, CO. and 2 grandchildren, Leah Jean Shafer and Ben Shafer.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald and Howard Brubaker and sister, Adaline Miller.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery.
