Richard Lawrence Funk, 87, of Royal Center passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at home.
Born on March 22, 1937 in Cass County, he was the son of the late Hilbert Ivan and Eleanor (Winn) Funk.
He was a 1955 Royal Center High School graduate.
Richard was a U.S. Army veteran who served in France for two years.
On July 5, 1958 he married Marcia Weaver, she survives.
He was formerly employed at RCA in Monticello for over 20 years and then retired from Bonnell Construction. Richard was also a life long farmer and enjoyed being outdoors and working on old lawn mowers.
Richard attended Baptist Christian Church in Royal Center where he loved to sing.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia Funk of Royal Center, children, Deborah Roemer (Michael) of Knox, Richard “Carli” Berens Funk (Tracy) of Pittsboro and Jill Birmingham (John) of Enfield, Connecticut, foster brother, Jeffrey Jarrard (DyAnna) of Logansport.
He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his step mother, Audrey Funk, brother, Tom Funk and sister, Pat Clark.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2024 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the funeral home.
Burial with military rites will be conducted at Bell Center Cemetery.
