A Mass of Christian Burial for Richard H. Walters, 81, of Logansport will be at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, May 16, 2009 at All Saints Catholic Church. He died at 8:12 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Chase Center. Born on November 3, 1927 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Cecil Walters and Inez Germaine. On June 6, 1959 he married Marie Bisacchi, who survives. Richard was a WWII Army veteran serving in Germany. He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1987 as a Quality Engineer. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of All Saints Catholic Church, American Legion and the UAW. Richard loved fishing, mushroom hunting, however, his first love was of the game of golf. He loved trading jokes and playing practical jokes on his brother-in-laws, Johnny, Jimmy and Anthony and good friend Tom Lane. Survivors include his wife, Marie Walters of Logansport, daughter, Vicki Berkshire and husband Paul of Burnettsville, son, Jim Albrecht of Logansport, grandson, Lucas Albrecht of California, step grandsons, Michael Berkshire and wife Amanda of Burnettsville, David Berkshire and wife Sabrina of Reynolds, step great grandchildren, Cody, Colton, Yazmine and Natalie Berkshire, sisters, Betty Mullet and Karen Miller both of Logansport and Patricia Floyd of Royal Center, brother, Tom Walters of Germany. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister, Barbara Deane. Father Jeff Martin will officiate and burial with military rites will be performed at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Logansport. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2009 at Marocco Funeral Chapel where there will also be a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and/or All Saints Catholic Church.
