Rita "Jan" Blickenstaff

Rita Janet Blickenstaff, 82, of Royal Center passed away at 3:50 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Chase Center in Logansport.

Born on March 5, 1940 in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of the late Kenith and Laura (Graves) Shoaf.

Jan was a graduate of Granville Wells High School in 1958 and then graduated from St. Elizabeth Nursing School.

On September 2, 1962 she married Frederick Eli Blickenstaff.  He preceded her in death on November 27, 2015.

She was a Registered Nurse and retired from Logansport Memorial Hospital.  She also formerly co owned and operated Ma and Pa’s Hometown Restaurant in Royal Center.

Jan was a member of Bell Center Bible Church.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and spending time with family.

Survivors include her children, Susie Jones (Glen) of Burnettsville, Kenith Adam Blickenstaff of Royal Center and Karl Ryan Blickenstaff (Priscilla) of Royal Center and sister, Loraine Ebaugh of Jamestown.  She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and one on the way.

She was also preceded in death by son, John Frederick “Jack” Blickenstaff and sisters, Karol Ann Shoaf and Karen Evans.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2022 at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Thompson Cemetery.
