Robert Leo Kennedy, 67, of Logansport lost his courageous battle with brain cancer at 7:45 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2010 at his residence.
Born on July 17, 1942 in Peru, he was the son of the late Edward Kennedy and the late Anna Pyeritz. On March 21, 1992 he married Monica A. Fisher, she survives.
He was a 1960 Peru High School graduate. Robert formerly worked at Exide for 29 years and he retired from Trellaborg in 2007 after 14 years.
He attended 1st Assembly of God in Logansport and was a member of the Logansport Eagles.
Robert had his longtime wish come true last week of talking to country singer Brenda Lee. She called to inform him that she was sending him some autographed pictures.
He was an avid collector who also enjoyed bowling and golf.
Survivors include his wife, Monica A. Kennedy of Logansport, daughter, Michelle Kennedy of Paducah, Kentucky, step son, Brandon Powell of Logansport, step daughters, Jennifer Horn and husband Ryan, Paula Murkve all of Logansport and Charlotte Didelot of Kentucky, brothers, Michael Kennedy and wife Nancy and Butch Kennedy all of Indianapolis and Kevin Kennedy and wife Lynda of Logansport, step grandchildren, Kayli and Andrew Helton, Cassie, Stephanie and Allie Murkeve, and mother in law, Dovie Fisher of Logansport.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert L. Kennedy, Jr., and sister in law, Janie Kennedy.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March, 18, 2010 at Marocco Funeral Chapel.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the funeral home.
Pastor Andy Weil will officiate and burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park.
