Services for Robert L. Mitchell, 83, of Royal Center will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2009 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center.
He died at 8:15 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born July 1, 1925 in Tipton County, he was the son of the late Marbel and Myrtle (Frazee) Mitchell.A� On August 8, 1946 he married Carolyn J. McCorkle, she survives.
Robert was a retired farmer and carpenter who loved the outdoors, hunting and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn J. Mitchell of Royal Center, sons, Thomas L. Mitchell and wife Deborah of Burnettsville and Rick A. Mitchell and wife Kathryn of Niles, Michigan, grandchildren, Amy Underhill and husband Sean, Angie Sterrett and husband Jared, Ryan Mitchell, Chad Mitchell and wife Mandie, Brad Mitchell and Brent Mitchell, great grandchildren, McKinley Underhill, Elias Underhill, Todd Sterrett, Carter Sterrett and Natalie Mitchell.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Wilma Wysong.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 pm., Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center.
Pastor Steve Bramlage will officiate and burial will be at Buffalo Cemetery, Buffalo.
