Robert Musselman

Robert Musselman, 93, of Lucerne passed away peacefully at 3:35 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2017 at Hickory Creek Healthcare Center in Rochester after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born on February 8, 1924 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Sherl and Dorothy (Raymer) Musselman.

He was a 1942 Royal Center High School graduate.

Robert served as a Sgt. Flight Engineer in the Army Air Force during World War II where he received 2 Bronze Stars.

He spent time in Idaho and Italy repairing damaged war planes.  After his years in the service he started a farm near Lucerne with his mother.  He married Janet Lucille Cramer in March of 1957 and they ran the successful farm operation until retirement.  After retirement, he and Janet continued to maintain residence in Lucerne but enjoyed spending winters in warm Okeechobee, Florida and summer in the cool Deer River in Minnesota where they spent countless hours fishing.  Robert also enjoyed listening to Christian music and serving God at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Logansport.

Survivors include his four sons, James Musselman (Beth) of Lucerne, John Musselman (Brenda) of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Ben Musselman of Lebanon, Tennessee and Ted Musselman (Lisa Shatzer) of Lucerne, grandchildren, Charity Musselman, Jamie Musselman, Ashley Musselman and Shelby Musselman and step grandchildren, Kelby Musselman (Zonda), Casey Musselman (Shannon Hicks), and Samantha Souder (Chad).  He is also survived by numerous step great grandchildren.

Robert was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Lucille Musselman on December 3, 1997, brother, Dean H. Musselman and step son, Jack Musselman.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel with Bob Cree officiating.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2017 at the funeral home.

Burial with Full Military Rites will be conducted at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made the American Parkinson’s Association.
