Roger E. Butler, 60, of Royal Center passed away at 11:40 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born August 25, 1952 in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late William E. and Elizabeth A. (Harold) Butler. On June 27, 1992, he married Carolyn M. Gilsinger, she survives.
Roger was a former diesel mechanic for Mack Truck Manufacturing in Indianapolis and he was also a former truck driver for Gangloff & Downham Trucking company in Logansport for several years.
Roger enjoyed guns and drag racing.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Butler of Royal Center, sons, Jason Butler and Robert Butler, both of Indianapolis, step sons, Joseph E. Fickle of Lafayette, Wilson S. Fickle (Denise) of Royal Center and Robert C. Fickle (Jennifer) of Rochester, brother, William Butler of New York, step brothers, Frank Doughty of Royal Center, Chuck Doughty of Winamac and Hubert Doughty of Remington, sisters, Karen Owens of Winamac and Jeanette Milburn of North Judson, and step sister, Rose Owens of Indianapolis. He is also survived by step grandchildren, Austin Hayden Fickle, Kenneth Smith and Tiffany Ploss and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Royal Center with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Chaplain Jason See will officiate.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
