Ronald G. Ballenger, Sr., 81, of Royal Center passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born on July 31, 1939 in Kentucky, he was the son of the late Leo Ballenger, and Alta Ballenger.
Ron made his way from Kentucky to Indiana where he fell in love with Margret L. Gunter. On April 28, 1963 he married Margaret L. Gunter. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2003.
Ronald retired from Wilson Foods in Logansport. After retirement Margret and Ron ran a paper route for many years in the Royal Center Winamac area. Ron loved to be outdoors whether he was fishing, camping, working in his garage, garden, or playing with his 13 grandchildren. He enjoyed staying busy and always having a little helper around.
Survivors include his 4 children, Theresa Hammond (Charles) of Russiaville, Fay Dearinger (Terry) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee Ronald G. Ballenger, Jr. (Betty) of Logansport, and Tammy Jackson (David) of Lewiston, Idaho and 13 grandchildren Mandy (Scott) Army of Logansport, Brian (Danielle) Hammond of Russiaville, Corey (Kristen) Hammond Clarks Hill, Joshua (Whitney) Dearinger of Logansport, Ashley (Brian) Hults of Mount Juliet, TN, Brittany Berry of Logansport, Justin Ballenger of Monticello, Cody (Jessica) Ballenger of Galveston, Alta Wolfe of Indianapolis, Chelsie Ballenger of Logansport, Lindsey Jackson of Las Vegas, NV, Daven Jackson of Lewiston ID, and Davin Jackson of Lewiston ID.
27 Great-grand Children Ethan, Matthew, Hannah, Noah, Jonah, Peyton, Reagan, Harper, Elijah, Rosalynn, Beau, Cash, Philip, Elena, Madison, Knova, Kayci, Kenadi, Wyatt, Dawson, Knowa, Connor, Collin, JJ, Colson, Jewlliana, and Damian.
A graveside service will be at Thursday, September 10th at noon at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
