Rosetta Stout, 78, of Logansport, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 10:45 p.m., Monday, May 1, 2017 at her residence.
Born on October 20, 1938, in Warsaw, she was the daughter of the late Rex and Pauline (Borden) Carey.
On May 24, 1963, she married Casper Stout, and he preceded her in death on October 26, 1993.
Rosetta was formerly employed at Federal Mogul in Leiters Ford, where she retired after 21 years.
She was a former member of the House of the Living Stones Christian Church in Warsaw. Rosetta enjoyed music, gardening and family above all.
Survivors include her children, Richard Applegate (Veronica) of Warsaw, Wayne Stout (Sue) of Logansport, Todd Stout of Ft. Wayne, and Ilah Applegate of Warsaw, brothers, Robert Clemans (Mary) of Edwardsburg, Michigan, James Carey (Carolyn) of Ft. Wayne, and Forrest Vining (Betty) of Warsaw, sisters, Susan Fairbanks (Lester) of Michigan, Patty Lester of Michigan, Virginia Schuh (John) of Warsaw, Glenda Holbrook of Warsaw, Linda Creamer (Rick) of Warsaw, and Sandy Vermilyer of Michigan. Rosetta is also survived by grandchildren, Joshua Applegate (Ms. Jessie Reeder) of Ft. Wayne, Zachary Applegate (Emily) of South Dakota, Sean Stout of Loganport, Cassie Stout of Logansport and Sarah Stout of Ft. Wayne. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren; Eva, Dylan, Celeste, Dawson, Mallory and Jonah.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Katherine Carey, Julia Hudkins, and Helen McKie, brothers, Cephas Denton, Rodney Carey, and Rex Carey, Jr.
A Celebration of Rosetta’s Life will be at 1:00 p.m., May 20, 2017 at the Fireman’s Building at Pike Lake, 1013 E. Arthur St., Warsaw, Indiana.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel.
