Roxie J. Thomas

Roxie J. Thomas, 89, of Rochester died peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, March 27, 2025. She was born to the late Murray Liston and Elizabeth (Timmons) Liston on April 1, 1935 in Frankfort, Indiana.

She graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1953 and married Edgar M. Thomas on December 25, 1953. They were married for 67 years before he passed away May 2, 2021.

Roxie was a homemaker and crafter. In her younger years she worked as a nurses aide and then worked for Federal Mogul until her retirement in 1997. After her retirement she enjoyed making crafts for the Covered Bridge Festival, camping in southern Indiana, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children: Steven Thomas of Leiters Ford, Bryan Thomas (Deana) of Kewanna, Susan Snyder (Joe) of Plymouth, Teresa VanMeter of Logansport, and Deborah Horn of Rochester; brother Ronald Liston, and sister Sheila Lear; and 13 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren.

Roxie was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Thomas; her parents Murray and Elizabeth Liston; brothers: Jerry Liston, Jack Liston, and Terry Liston; and sister Norma Smith.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Kewanna Chapel. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Kewanna.
