Sally J. Short, 95, of Logansport passed away at 4:25 p.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at her home.
Born on November 10, 1925 in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Rosa (Hostetler) Taylor.
She was a 1943 graduate of Gerstmeyer Technical High School in Terre Haute.
On December 22, 1946 she married Morris Short. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2005.
Sally was formerly employed at Canteen Vending Company and Taymor Industries. She was also a former teacher’s aide at Franklin Elementary School. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Logansport and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Sally was also a 4-H Leader and Home Extension Club for many years.
Sally loved her family and making memories. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the city pool and vacation bible school every summer. She also enjoyed visiting with her great grandchildren and watching them play. Sally enjoyed gardening, cooking for the holidays and being a loving wife.
Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Short of Logansport and Sharon Henke of Leavenworth, Kansas, granddaughters, Sarah (Henke)Shafer (Adam) of Kansas City, Kansas and Sandra (Henke) Lang (Ethan) of Lansing, Kansas. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Bailey Shafer, Jameson Lang, and Ophelia Lang
She was also preceded in death by 4 sisters, Edith, Rosemary, Ada and Naoma and 2 brothers, Arthur and Wayne.
Services will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Pastor Mike Montgomery will officiate.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute.
