Samuel F. Kochel

March 18, 1925 — December 22, 2013

Samuel F. Kochel, 88, of Burnettsville passed away at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Pulaski Healthcare Center.

Born on March 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Harry O. and Pearl (DeWitt) Kochel.

Samuel was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII and Korea. He also served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the Royal Center Masonic Lodge and the V.F.W. in Monticello.

He was a retired operating engineer and lifelong farmer.

Survivors include his children, Samuel W. Kochel (Sue) of Headlee, Melody Ann Scahill (Thomas) of Salem, Ohio and Marsha McBlaine-Miller, grandchildren, Esther Scahill Bailey, Sean Scahill, Michael Scahill, Kenny Kochel, Samuel Kochel, Jerry Kochel, Dale Gerard, Melissa Procopio and Kevin Clothier and great grandchildren, Dacey Kochel, Shellylane Kochel, Brock Abney, Samuel Kochel, Sarah Beckner, Andrew Carter, Anna Carter and Catherine Carter.

He was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 1 sister.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2013 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Edward Roller officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the funeral home, where there will also be a Masonic service at 3:45 p.m.

Burial will be at Bell Center Cemetery.
