Sara Allison Despot, 42, of Winamac passed away peacefully surrounded by family at 1:15 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022 at home.
Born on August 3, 1980 in Beech Grove, she was the daughter of Thomas A. Despot and Cynthia E. Shipley.
Sara was a 1999 Winamac High School graduate where she also was a proud Marching Band member.
She was a former Certified Nursing Assistant at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life Community. Sara enjoyed taking care of her house plants, photography and crafts.
Survivors include her parents, Thomas Despot (Rebecca) of Monterey and Cynthia Mongan (Kevin) of Greenwood, brother, Jake Despot (Amber) of Star City, sister, Abigail Mongan of Greenwood, grandfather, Robert Shipley (Jan) of Greenwood and step sister, Jessica Norris of North Judson. She is also survived by numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Barbara Shipley and John and Shirley Despot.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
Burial will be at Franklin Twp. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society and/or Riley Children’s Hospital.
