Shirley Morehead, 84, passed away peacefully at Chase Center in Logansport on November 13, 2024.
Shirley was born in Logansport, Indiana on August 2nd 1940, to Jess and Agnes Hoover.
In the early 70s, she worked as a cashier and gift wrapper at the Golden Rule. Shirley later worked in the bookstore at Ivy Tech and also did secretarial work at a few local businesses.
Shirley truly lived life to the fullest through her love for her family. She absolutely adored spending time with her large family, including numerous grandkids and great grandkids. Her whole world revolved around seeing them grow up. Shirley and her late husband, Larry Morehead, loved going on trips together such as Florida and out West. They also cherished their Sunday family get togethers with Larry’s delicious home cooked meals.
Shirley was also a lifelong member of All Saints Catholic Church. Her strong faith in God helped her persevere through her many health struggles.
Preceded in death by her parents Jess and Agnes Hoover; sisters, Mary Hoover, Barb Shafer and Claudia Shaffer; brother, Kenny Hoover, and beloved husband Larry Morehead, whom she adored.
She is survived by her siblings Jim Hoover, Patty Dexter, and Karen Parish; sons, Larry Moon (Linda) and Mike Moon (Cheryl); daughter, Shari Deardorff (Brad); stepdaughters, Sherry Hale and Terrie Bence; grandchildren, Josh, Savanna, AJ, Matt, Carlie, and Elle, and several great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024 at All Saints Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
