Stanley E. Carter

Stanley E. Carter, 79, of Lucerne passed away at 8:20 a.m., Monday, July 5, 2010 at MillerA�A�?A�?A�s Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born on December 10, 1930 in Glasgow, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Winston and Annie (Thomas) Carter. On February 22, 1952 he married Marilyn Hoffman, she survives.
Stanley was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Logansport, a 40 year member of the Lucerne Lions Club and a former Harrison Township Volunteer Fireman. He enjoyed watching Nascar, gardening, working on small engines and spending time with his grandchildren.
He retired after 35 years from Midwest Plating Company and also formerly worked at Elco and Big R all of Logansport.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn Carter of Lucerne, one son, Roger L. Carter and wife Diane of Logansport, daughters, Janice L. Samuels and husband Steve of Frankfort and Diann E. Rorrer and husband Keith of Spencer, Virginia, sister, Nellie Wagner and husband Daniel of Peru, grandchildren, April, Tabitha, Jessica, Rachel and husband Chris, Sean, Drew, Britta and Rebekah, step grandson, Chris, and great grandchildren, Austin, Brianna, Autumn, Anastacia, Dana, Jansen, Ainsley and Benjamin.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Virgil Carter and one great granddaughter, Libreata.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 9, 2010 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Logansport with Pastor Tim Berlin officiating.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Burial with military rites will be conducted at Ever Rest Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church.
