Sue Ann Snavley Shaw, 59, of Winamac passed away peacefully at 4:21 a.m., Monday September 26, 2016 at her residence.
Born March 28, 1957 in Rensselaer, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Delores (Boze) Snavley.
Sue was a 1975 Pioneer High School graduate and was active as a twirler, a member of Sunshine Society, in Pep Club, a member of 4-H and Junior Leaders Club, and was a member of White Oak Methodist Church and Youth Fellowship.
Sue Ann was an LPN, and worked at Pulaski Healthcare Center in Winamac and at White County Memorial Hospital as a Med-Surge Nurse.
Sue is survived by three children, her son, Thomas E. Shaw of Idaville, her daughters, Candace Sue Shaw (Frank Szczepanski) of Valparaiso and Sarah Ann Shaw of Ober, her sister, Sandi Kay Swetnam of Robinson, TX. and her four grandchildren, Tyler James Shaw, Alyssa Gabrielle Shaw, Nathaniel Jacob Hallenbeck and Sophia Elizabeth Hallenbeck. After reconnecting with her biological siblings, Sue’s family grew to include, sister Pat (Dan) Whitler (deceased), Walt (Angie) Selby, Dori McCarty, and Ed (Paula) Stockman.
Sue had a strong and caring spirit, and evenmore, she had an ability to always make people laugh. She loved spending time with her grandkids, attended their sports and school events, and her grandkids enjoyed listening to her tell stories. She was an avid Pioneer Panther fan and her favorite sport was football. She cheered on Pioneer, Notre Dame, IU, the Cubs, the Bears, and was often times a Jeopardy champion at home. Sue was an animal lover, often making a home for strays, and was particularly fond of her grand dogs.
Visitation begins at 2:00 p.m., with Memorial Services following at 4:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel. Inurnment will be at Bell Center Cemetery immediately following the service.
Reverend Chris Stevens is the Officiant.
