Thomas L. Rearick, 62, of Logansport passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born December 17, 1951 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Robert D. and Ruth D. (Smith) Rearick.
He was a Caston High School graduate.
Tom was employed at the Logansport State Hospital for over 40 years where he was an attendant in the Isaac Ray Unit.
He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing fantasy football and baseball. Tom was an I.U. and Bobby Knight fan and an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Tom was a gentle soul with a generous heart. He would always put others before himself. He valued family and friends and would never forget a birthday or special occasion. Tom knew how to make everyone in his life feel special.
Survivors include sister, Barb Hayden (Dennis) of Lucerne, half sister, Sondra Spradling (Charles) of Logansport, nieces and nephews, Stacie Grabbe of Advance, Indiana, Nikki Cripe (Jack) of Goshen, Andrea Orlando (Dominick) of McKinney, Texas, Gene Spradling of Royal Center, Robert Spradling of Logansport, Luanne Campbell of Logansport, Jan Gregory of Texas, Edward Robinson of Carmel, Dorothy Smock of Gas City, David Robinson of Indianapolis and James Robinson of Carmel. He is also survived by several cousins.
He was also preceded in death by half sister, Judith Robinson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2014 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery in Royal Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home& Cremation Services, Royal Center.
