Violet Louise Wendt

Violet Louise Wendt, 96, of Logansport, passed away at 10:15 p.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Golden Living Sycamore Village Health Care in Kokomo.

Born on December 29, 1916, in Calhoun, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Julia A. (Ary) Woolf.

Violet was a homemaker and she also had formerly been employed at Corso's Cleaners. Violet was a devoted member of the Lighthouse of Hope UPC in Logansport since 1980 where she formerly played the piano and organ.

She enjoyed sewing, reading, and gardening. Violet was very proud that she finished her high school education and received her diploma in her late 70's.

Survivors include son; Harold (Merry) Grigsby of Kokomo, daughter; June (James) McCoy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, brother, Leander (Sandra) Woolf of Columbus, Ohio, sister; Eugina (Brady) Calvert of High Ridge, Missouri, sister in law, Mary A. Woolf of Westerville, Ohio. Violet is also survived by grandchildren; Dennis (Robin) McCoy of Jackson, Tennessee, H. Stanley Grigsby Jr., of Ft. Wayne, Rebecca (Richard) Wearmouth of Independence, Iowa, Cynthia (Eric) Johnson of Effingham, Illinois, Everett (Rhonda) McCoy of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Steve (Leslie) Grigsby of Royal Center, David (Elisha) Grigsby of Lafayette, and Ester (Brian) Henry also of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and 20 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren..

She was preceded in death by spouses; Charles Grigsby, Russell Richardson, and Richard Wendt, and one brother, William Woolf.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Marocco a�" Rans Funeral Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Joshua Bault will officiate.

Burial will be held at Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Walton.
