Virgil D. “Boogie” Freels, 72, of Marshtown passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 02, 2015 at his residence.
Born on June 27, 1942 in Marshtown, he was the son of the late Walter and Frances (Thiel) Freels.
Virgil helped take care of his parents for many years and he also worked for several farmers through the years.
He enjoyed collecting toys and he never knew a stranger.
Survivors include his brothers, Kenneth Freels of Florida, Walter Freels, Jr. of Fulton, Gene Freels (Shirley) of Fulton, Audry Freels of Rochester, Clayton Freels (Sharon) of Kewanna and Roger Freels of Kewanna and sisters, Edith Hacker of Ohio, Shirley Shephard of Indianapolis, Katrina Clevenger (Jim) of Rochester and twin sister, Vivian King of Rochester.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Homes, Kewanna Chapel.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 5, 2015 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Grass Creek Cemetery.
