Virgil R. Zellers, 82 of Kewanna, passed away suddenly at 2:57 p.m., Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester.
Born October 15, 1927 in Fulton County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Julia (Metzger) Zellers. On November 23, 1950, he married Patricia L. Sanders, she survives.
He was a 1945 Kewanna High School graduate and a U.S. Army Air Force veteran, serving in Japan during WWII.
Virgil retired from the Fulton County Highway Department and he also formerly owned and operated his own trucking company. He enjoyed attending the Power of the Past. Virgil was an outgoing person who didnA�A�?A�?A�t know a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was also an active member of Kewanna VFW Post1121.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Zellers, of Kewanna, his A�A�?A�A...?adoptedA�A�?A�i�� family and best friends, Richard and Tami Powell of Kewanna and their children, Traci Powell, Trent Powell and Trisha Forry and her husband, Brent, brothers, Wayne Zellers and wife, Doris of Sun City Center, Florida and Herbert Zellers and wife, Becky of Rochester, sisters, Virginia Cook of Texas, Naomi A�A�?A�A...?BabeA�A�?A�i�� Siedel of Indianapolis, Nedra Bahler and husband, Wally of Fishers and Marilyn Williams of Indianapolis. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his step mother, Bernice Zellers and sister, Marjorie Martin.
Graveside Services with Military Rites will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Citizens IOOF Cemetery in Kewanna. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel.
