Warren Wayne Goodrich, 99, of Royal Center passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Franciscan Hospital East in Lafayette.
Born on July 3, 1921 in Royal Center, he was the son of the late William and Hester Anna (Friemel) Goodrich.
He was a 1939 graduate of Royal Center High School.
Warren was a proud WWII U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving as a mechanic on B-24s, 5th Air Force, 531st Squadron, 380th Bomb Group.
On March 12, 1949 he married Imogene Kistler. They were blessed to celebrate 72 years of marriage last month.
He retired from Rockwell International after 33 years. Warren was a member of the V.F.W. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on the Purdue Boilermakers, Chicago Cubs, and Pioneer Panthers. Warren loved gardening and fishing, but what he loved most was visiting with friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene Goodrich of Royal Center, son, Warren M. Goodrich (Vicki) of Ft. Wayne, daughters, Shelly Lee (Geoff) of Logansport and Melita Swartzell of Royal Center; grandchildren, Scott Goodrich, Renee Brown (Travis), and Kara Goodrich all of Ft. Wayne, Brandon Collins (Rebekah) of Brownsburg, Ryan Collins (Kristina) of Galena, Ohio, Aaron Collins of Walton, and Amber Swartzell of Fishers; great-grandchildren, Ian Brown, Cameron Brown, Tyler Collins, Lukas Collins, Jaynie Collins, Brady Collins, Ryder Collins, and Nash Collins; Step grandchildren Amie TerMolen (Mike) of Ft. Wayne, Lesley Burwell (Rich) of Roanoke, Geoff (JJ) Lee, and Tiffany (Shane) Morock, all of Logansport; and Step great-grandchildren Alan TerMolen, Max TerMolen, Anakayla Burwell, Blake Elmore, Jasmine Lee, Jayce Lee, Jaelyn Benish, Clayton Morock, and Arian Morock.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles and James Goodrich, sister, Wilma Miller, and son- in-law, Steven Swartzell.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center with Pastor Minnick officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Burial with military rites will be performed at Kistler Cemetery.
