William A. “Bill” Henry, 68 of Lucerne passed away at 6:45 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 21, 1956 in Logansport, he was the son of Paul “Hank” and Beverley Sue (Zeider) Henry.
He was a 1974 Pioneer High School graduate.
On August 13, 1994 he married Mary A. Carlson, she survives.
Bill was always a hard worker, often working more than one job at any given time. He retired from Essroc in Logansport in 2018.
He enjoyed family vacations to Wisconsin, fishing, euchre, and of course, his cows. He was always prepared for any situation, often taking hours or days to pack for a trip. He would greet you with a hearty handshake, and he wasn’t known for being quiet! You could often hear him yelling while watching Purdue basketball or Fox news, and he was always up for a good political debate. However, for those who knew him, you already knew his view was right and would not change regardless of the conversation. Rudolph was one of his favorite holiday movies and each year he called his kids to tell them it was on tv so they could watch it, too. Even while watching his shows, he always had his flip-phone in hand, calling those he cared about and loved… multiple times a day. The main topic on his mind: Nourishment; always asking what you had for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You see, Bill was a connoisseur of fine cuisine and was always up for a good meal. He was a great dad, grandpa, son, brother, and friend to many, and he loved being Cat Dad to “Square Cat” and “Gracie Girl”. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids and made sure everyone knew it.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Henry of Lucerne, children, Joshua Henry (Danielle) of Columbus, Wisconsin, Jacob Henry (Jeannine) of Lafayette, Nicki Gunter (Shawn) of Winamac and Holly Mize (Stephen) of Greenfield, father, Paul “Hank” Henry of Royal Center, sisters, Cindy Schmaltz (Ed) of Royal Center and Pam Chaffee (Kevin) of Batesville and grandchildren, Bryce Gunter (Allena) of Winamac, Brandon Mize of Greenfield, Dominick Henry and Asher Henry both of Lafayette, his best friend from high school, Allen Tribbett (Andi) and by his “adopted” kids Wade Baker and family and Tonja Good and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverley Sue Henry, grandson, Derrick Lee Mize and beloved dog, “Bear Dog”.
