Zephyr Harrison

One of five children, Zephyr D. Harrison, was born in Monticello, Georgia to James and Olivia Roberts White on December 6, 1926. They later moved the family to Cleveland, Ohio where she attended the Cleveland Public School System. She was a member of St. James AME Church throughout her childhood.
Zephyr met and married Rueben Harrison and to this union were born Richard and Paulette.
Zephyr worked for many years at Arlans Dept. Store and after retirement helped prepare lunches for preschoolers. She was an active member of the Daughter of Isis and Eastern Star until her health started failing.
She leaves to cherish her memory a grandson, Matthew and Jamilla Jones of Indianapolis, 2 great grandsons, Dorian Jones, and Austin Jones, nephew Michael Mandell of New York, niece Michelle Ali, a great nephew Jason Ali, and great niece Melissa Ali of Detroit, Michigan, and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 children, and 1 grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., at Marocco Funeral Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport.
